Membership covers you to play, coach and referee Touch in Scotland, and it pays for the work that brings new players into the game.

What your membership pays for

Membership income supports both the infrastructure that allows Touch to operate safely in Scotland and the development work that helps the sport grow. Through the annual fee, members help to fund:

  • The systems and governance required to run Scottish Touch, and affiliation with the Federation of International Touch.
  • Coach and referee education and development.
  • Grassroots development work in schools, colleges and universities.
  • Establishing and supporting new clubs and playing opportunities.
  • The public liability insurance in place for players, coaches and officials, and from season 2026 personal accident cover as well.

As membership numbers increase, the association’s objective is to invest a greater proportion of income into youth development, referee development, coach education and grassroots expansion throughout Scotland.

Your insurance cover

As an individual member, your personal liability is covered while you are participating in recognised and approved Touch activity. The policy will cover the cost of defending yourself against a claim if you are held responsible for loss, damage or injury to someone else or their property.

Public liability

£10m

Accidental bodily injury to third parties, or damage to third party property, arising out of the insured activities. The policy extends to include injury following tuition, advice, coaching or instruction.

Professional indemnity

£2m

Accidental bodily injury to third parties, or damage to third party property, arising out of the insured activities. The policy extends to include injury following tuition, advice, coaching or instruction.

Personal accident

Lump sum

A non-negligent benefit policy that pays a lump sum if you are injured while participating in Scottish Touch activities, including commuting to and from games and training sessions.

Membership must be paid for this cover to be in place.
