REFEREEING

KEEP THE GAME FAIR, FUN AND FLOWING.

Referees are an essential part of Touch, helping to keep the game fair, flowing and enjoyable for everyone. Whether you’re interested in learning the basics or developing your refereeing further, there are opportunities to get involved in the North East.

WHY REFEREE?

Referees are at the heart of Touch. They help games run fairly, safely and smoothly, while creating a positive experience for players at every level. Refereeing is also a great way to develop your understanding of the game and stay involved in the Touch community.

FAIR PLAY

Help games run fairly and consistently, giving players confidence in how the game is managed.

POSITIVE EXPERIENCE

Help create an enjoyable and respectful environment for players, coaches and fellow referees.

DEVELOP THE GAME

Good refereeing supports better players, coaches and competitions, helping Touch develop across the region.

Get Involved

Refereeing gives you another way to take part in Touch, develop new skills and contribute to the local community.

THE RULES

Touch is played to the rules of the Federation of International Touch (FIT). Understanding the rules helps referees make consistent decisions and helps players understand how the game should be played.
